Ruberekus 12245 Inviato 2 Marzo, 2019 AMuS-Only thing that is clear is that Ferrari is quickest and Williams slowest. Between that there is a lot of confusion.-Mercedes and Red Bull appear to be on par, depending who you ask 0.2-0.7 s behind Ferrari-Midfield is closer, according to Renault they halved the gap. Hard to tell who is ahead there though.-Generally testing is harder to call than in previous years, there is a huge margin of error: thanks to the fuel rule change it's quite realistic that some teams tested on their race sim with 100 kg, some others with 120, engine programs, the DRS is also more powerful and the tyres even trickier than before (grip level depending a lot on temps and warm up procedure)-Ferrari is quick, but unreliable, the packaging seems to be on the limit-Mercedes doesnt really know where they stand. The car improved a lot in the 2nd week, and generally the car is better this year in slow corners, but struggles with balance in quick corners, even the upgrade (essentially they build a 2nd car in order to have more days in the wind tunel) is not enough to be on Ferrari's level. It helped improving rear stability.-Mercedes reckons to be 3 tenths behind over one lap. And 5-10 s over the race. But the car is a diva: sometimes its close, sometimes in the midfield depending on temps. They struggle more with graining than anyone else. Hamilton is hoping that they can find a few tenths by understanding the car better by Melbourne.-(also interestingly regarding Mercedes' big upgrade Renault mentions that this is something they wouldnt be able to pull off, they are nowadays in this aspect on the level of top teams from three years ago)-Newey is more or less satisfied with testing. Marko thinks they are two tenths behind Ferrari and clearly ahead of Mercedes, which is something Mercedes cant understand since Red Bulls race sims werent quick. Due to Gasly's crash RBR couldnt show much in the end.-Force India is 9th, they'll get a upgrade in Melbourne, they need at least 5 tenths to reach the other midfield teams.-Haas is quicker than it appears. Parts of the race sim were even as quick as Ferrari's. RBR and Mercedes need to watch out.-Renault is neither great nor terrible. They reckon to be in the upper midfield and made improvements on the engine, nothing is fundamentally wrong, but there are some issues like the brakes, the reae causing a lot drag and instability in medium speed corners.-Renault Engine gained 40 hp, and is more reliable. They and McLaren used 5 engines during testing, but a lot of this were due to experimental parts.-Similar applies to Honda, the FiA also helped reducing the gap by diminishing some of Ferrari and Mercedes advantages-Toro Rosso is very solid, quick and reliable. The closer partnership this year with RBR is helping and them running the Ferrari concept can give RBR valueable info.-Sauber struggled a bit more in Week 2, bit sector times indicate that they had more fuel. They are planning small updates for every race.-McLaren improved over testing, Renault engine is good and the baseline better than in previous years. The rear wing is a issue, but they ran Melbourne spec here which is not optimal for Barcelona.-Williams is last, but it appears like the car is more predictable and better to the tyres than last year https://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/formel-1/f1-analyse-testwoche-2-barcelona-2019/ Condividi questo messaggio Link al post Condividi su altri siti
