Sarebbero una bella coppia...Alonso e Vettel sono un po' gli Ale e Franz della formula 1, specie quando stanno uno dietro l'altro in pista.

Per questo sono divertenti. Pure se Alonso è 18esimo e Vettel 17esimo se ne fregano della posizione assoluta e passano la gara a farsi sportellate, pur di rimanere appiccicati a battagliare, con un solo pallino fisso "Tu dopo di me".

Vettel e Alonso sono i migliori piloti del mondo, direi che in ogni caso ne saremmo soddisfatti

l'importante è che vengano supportati da una vettura vincente e che ci si impegni anche a livello politico per non far cambiare carte in tavola a stagione in corso, nel caso sia davvero vincente.

Più che altro spero non faccia la fine della Williams, che dopo il dominio gradualmente scese nei gironi infernali e ne è uscita solo quest'anno (sperando che la posizione nel costruttori riesca a foraggiare una buona macchina 2015).

McLaren line-up will be announced before end of season, says Boullier

McLaren boss Eric Boullier says that the team is still on course to announce its drivers for 2015 before the end of this season.

Meanwhile Jenson Button and Kevin Magnussen remain in limbo until that decision is confirmed.

“I hope to sort out our decision and driver line-up before the end of the season,” said Boullier. “It’s true that it takes a bit more time than maybe we would have let’s say dealt with, but it’s still on course to be announced and sealed before the end of the season.”

Meanwhile Boullier accepts that life is difficult for the current drivers, and especially Button.

“I understand obviously that he may not feel comfortable, and obviously he’s concerned about his future. I’m in charge of McLaren Racing and we have to build the best for the team. Drivers are obviously very important in the discussion, and Jenson is more than considered to stay with us for the long term. But we are still investigating what we want to do with our driver line-up, once we have all the data in our hands.”

Boullier says the decision is not affected by recent good results from Jenson: “We know the value of Jenson, and we know he is a World Champion class driver, and he has been a World Champion already, so we don’t need him to deliver an extra job on track to let’s say save his job.”

Questo lo trovo abbastanza interessante, ma non mi dice niente di nuovo..sapevamo che la McLaren non avesse ancora deciso niente, sicuramente fa piacere che ci diranno la loro scelta prima della fine della Stagione, altrimenti non avrebbe senso.

Dichiarazioni che trovano conferma anche nelle parole di Button che dice anche che sarebbe dispiaciuto per Magnussen, conscio che non potrebbe trovare altra sistemazione.

 

Sicuramente la cosa migliore che si legge è che Boullier accosta la parola "long-term" a Button, che è sicuramente la migliore, che potrebbe significare anche che in caso di firma sarà un pluriennale e quindi un progetto a lungo termine.

il problema è che dopo il "long-term" Bouillier piazzava un gigante "BUT" che mette tutto in discussione.

La mia interpretazione è:

"Abbiamo bisogno di un pilota di esperienza intorno a cui far sviluppare il nostro progetto. Sicuramente Button è una valida scelta ma solo se non dovesse arrivare Alonso"

Da ciò si spiegherebbero espressioni come "So questa situazione per lui non è rassicurante ma abbiamo bisogno di tempo per decidere la nostra line up"

Merc chief expects Lewis to extend deal when contract talks open

 

Toto Wolff insists high-flying Lewis Hamilton will not find himself under threat for his race seat at Mercedes for 2016 as the team wait to commence contract renewal talks with the Briton on the conclusion of the Drivers’ Championship fight.

Hamilton is nearing the end of his second season at the Anglo-German team meaning the 29-year-old has little over 12 months to run on the three-year deal he signed to defect from McLaren two years ago.

Despite both team and driver having publicly made clear in recent months that they are keen to extend their relationship beyond 2015, it has not stopped wild speculation that Hamilton, either by his own volition or the team’s choosing, could yet leave, with Fernando Alonso thought to be eyeing up a seat at the new Constructors’ Champions for 2016.

However, having put talks on a new deal on hold while Hamilton’s intra-team title duel with Nico Rosberg plays out, Wolff insists both sides are relaxed about the situation with the Austrian expecting a positive outcome when discussions do resume.

“We’ve said many times, and he’s said, that we’d like to continue with Lewis for a much longer period and we’ve decided to delay the discussions about the contract until we have hopefully won the Drivers’ Championship,” Mercedes’ Executive Director told Sky Sports News HQ.

“He wants to stay concentrated, we think that he needs to stay concentrated and not be diluted by legal or financial discussions, and once we have done that we’re going to sit down and hopefully extend it. This is his wish, it’s our wish, so I don’t see any contradictions at that stage.”

And, amid the Alonso rumours, Wolff added on Hamilton’s position at the team: “Nobody’s going to take that seat away from him until he decides so.”

Despite Hamilton increasing his lead over Rosberg in the championship standings to 17 points with victory in Russia, the outcome of the all-Mercedes duel is unlikely to be decided until the season finale in Abu Dhabi given that for the first time in F1’s history double points will be on offer.

Wolff, while not a fan of the controversial scoring system, is expecting his drivers’ battle to go all the way down to the wire.

“It’s still tight and with the last race having double points, a DNF versus winning the race means 50 points difference,” he pointed out.

“Both of them are extremely concentrated and focused on their work and it’s going to go down to Abu Dhabi.”“So it’s probably going to go down to the last race and I’m not a fan of the double points, but I understand why they came and I guess that it’s going to be the pinnacle of the whole season. That justifies, maybe, the double points – but not from the sporting point of view.

With the chances of anyone but Hamilton or Rosberg winning the drivers’ crown all-but mathematically extinguished at the last race, Mercedes are set to emulate their Brackley forerunners Brawn GP by winning both championships in the same season.

Wolff admitted that much of the credit for the new outfit’s success had to go to Ross Brawn, who sold his eponymous team to the German manufacturer in 2010 before leaving the role of Team Principal at the end of last season after gearing the team up for the 2014 turbo revolution in the intervening years.

“Ross was such a fundamental part of this year’s championship. This is his trophy,” Wolff, who joined Mercedes from Williams in early 2013, acknowledged.

“He laid down the basis of the success of the team. Some of the decisions which were taken many, many years ago proved to be the right ones today. You can never determine who had which impact but definitely Ross has had a major role.”

Tanto se alla fine dell'anno prossimo Hamilton (magari dopo 2 titoli ) va via dalla Mercedes non credo che va in Ferrari.

A quel punto ci sarebbe lo scambio con Alonso in McLaren, quindi può anche firmare per 2 anni.

Sono i cicli: team storici come Brabham, Tyrrel, Renault e Lotus sono spariti o hanno cambiato nome vendendo. E se non fosse così vincerebbero sempre gli stessi.

La scelta di Kvyat come secondo pilota, specie dopo quello successo a Sochi, è proprio senza senso.

Su Ricciardo evidentemente conoscono il valore del pilota, non solo in pista ma anche nei settaggi e nel dirigere il team

Poi a livello di nomi sulla piazza è rimasto poco o nulla che possa fare la differenza, per loro non avere Newey sarà un brutto colpo ma non ce ne stanno altrove.
