Tra le novità più interessanti del parco partenti troviamo l'addio di Citroen, che lascia liberi Ogier e Lappi, con il francese che potrebbe firmare con Toyota, e il passaggio del neo Campione del Mondo Ott Tanak alla Hyundai. Il calendario invece vede parecchie modifiche, la più succulenta è il ritorno del Safari. Rientrano anche Nuova Zelanda e Giappone, salutano invece Spagna, Australia e Corsica.
