Monaco GP: Marussia qualifying quotes Saturday, May 25th 2013, 16:40 GMT

Max Chilton - 20th: "After a good start on Thursday, today has been quite a big challenge with the tricky conditions we had in qualifying. Naturally I was hoping for a better grid slot because it's all about grid position in Monaco. I think I got the best out of the tyre too early and it just wasn't there at the end when the track was a bit drier. It's disappointing because it will be a long race tomorrow. The weather looks fine, so with a clean first lap I'll be hoping to make the best of any opportunities which come our way."

Jules Bianchi - 21st: "Of course I was hoping for a good shot at qualifying for my home race, so it is very disappointing to have to pull over so soon and not take part in the session. The Team aren't entirely sure of the full cause of the problem just yet but it was clear that I would not have been able to complete any laps, which is why they asked me to pull over. We have to wait to see what happens. I think it could be a very exciting race for everyone tomorrow; things have not been straightforward through the field so we have to remain focused and see what happens and then do the best job possible in what are tough circumstances."

John Booth, Team Principal: "In FP3 this morning we opted to do a little more work on our long run pace, having been less happy with this on Thursday. We got very little from the option tyre so we knew qualifying was going to be a challenge even before the weather turned against us. We needed a dry session for our two drivers, who have never driven around Monaco in a Formula One car in the wet before. We are very sorry for the problem which prevented Jules from taking part in the session and we will look to ensure this is rectified going forward. With Max we were perhaps not quite there in terms of the optimum time to fit the last set of Intermediate tyres. It will be a tough race tomorrow but we will give it our best shot and see what we can make of it."

Monaco GP: Marussia race quotes Sunday, May 26th 2013, 17:27 GMT

Jules Bianchi - DNF: "After a tough weekend here in Monaco I was hopeful that we might have the opportunity to turn things around in the race, but it was not to be, unfortunately. On the grid at the start I had an electrical problem and couldn't select gear, so I had to start from the pit lane. It was a bit worrying but at least I could start. For that early part of the race I was right with Max but I had to think about looking after the tyres and hope that the race would come to me. After Maldonado hit the barrier in the accident with Max, the barrier came back out at me and my nose was damaged, so I had just pitted when the Red Flag came out. I was lucky that the damage was only limited to the nose and I could continue with the race. After that I was just looking to bring the car home, but I had a failure of the right front brake disc and that took me out at Ste Devote. It's a big shame but we have learned a lot I'm sure from some of the problems we had this weekend."

Max Chilton - 14th: "Overall I'm pleased with a positive conclusion to the race after what has been a difficult weekend for us. I fought hard in the latter stages to ensure we had something good to take away from Monaco and naturally I am very happy that I was able to get past Van Der Garde on the penultimate lap for 14th. With regard to the accident with Pastor, Esteban made a late lunge into the chicane and I could see he was locked up so I had to take action to avoid him, which meant missing the chicane. I rejoined coming out of Turn 11 and the apex to Turn 12 was fast approaching. I was aware that someone was behind me but not alongside me. The stewards determined a drive-through penalty for me and I accept that decision. After the race I went to see Pastor to check he was okay. The incident made for a difficult rest of the race but all I could do was concentrate on the best result for the Team and, problems aside, I think we have to be pleased with the end result."

John Booth, team principal: "Today's race was incredibly eventful for the whole field and our Team was no exception. We are sorry for the problem which Jules experienced on the grid but things started to look up for us from there. Our strategy was working well and we had a to make a few late calls, including the late one to pit Max under the second Safety Car period so that he could take on a fresh set of option tyres and have a shot at Van Der Garde. Thanks to an incredible drive from Max in the closing laps, he got by on the second to last lap and ensured we had something positive to take home, because, by then, Jules was unfortunately out of the race. It was a nice reward for Max after a good recovery following the incident with Maldonado. It seems that Jules suffered a failure of the right front brake disc and for that again we must apologise to him. There is a lot to learn from and improve on after this weekend but in the main we are still happy with the result."

Canadian GP qualifying quotes: Marussia Saturday, June 8th 2013, 19:58 GMT

Jules Bianchi - 20th: "It has been a frustrating day as I think we were looking strong yesterday in the dry and in anticipation of a dry race tomorrow. Today was a bit of a wash-out however because, although the rain was not heavy, it was intermittent and the track was quite variable at several different stages of the day. Like most of the field we took a gamble on the track having dried enough by the start of Q1 for us to use the Supersoft tyre, but it was so slippery that we were lucky to make it back to the pits to change to the Intermediate. I never got a clean lap as there was the occasional damp patch on the line, so I couldn't get the consistency to improve enough. I hope we can expect the forecast dry race and we can focus on the positives from yesterday."

Max Chilton - 21st: "That was a very tricky qualifying. It wasn't easy to read the track before our first run but it was soon very clear that the Supersoft we had started on was not the way to go. It was like an ice rink! Once we'd switched to the Intermediate tyre I had the confidence to start attacking and we were making good progress, but the track was evolving the whole time so everyone was going quicker. On my quickest lap I got blocked but it's good that we start ahead of at least one of the Caterhams tomorrow. I hope we've seen the last of the wet here and we can look forward to a dry race, as things were quite promising yesterday."

John Booth, Team Principal: "The wet conditions made for a difficult day for the Team. FP3 threw up more than the usual challenges with only half an hour of running, however at least both cars got onto the option tyre at the end and Max had a particularly good end to the session. Jules didn't quite get the best out of his tyres having run wide and onto the damp conditions on the dry tyres, however we could see that, in the main, the cars were pretty much as we'd expected them to be after we'd applied our overnight learnings. The Qualifying session was obviously very difficult. We felt it was right to try and use the option tyre, however, as with most of the field, we stopped almost immediately for the Intermediate. Whilst there was nothing fundamentally wrong with the timing of our runs, traffic and varying water conditions meant we never got the best from either driver. We're much happier with our performance on dry tyres and, although there is still a slight risk of rain tomorrow, it does seem that it is more likely to be dry than today. We look forward to that being the case and making as much progress as we can."

Canadian GP: Marussia race quotes Sunday, June 9th 2013, 22:05 GMT

Jules Bianchi - 17th: "It was good to be able to enjoy a dry race today because we were back on the pace we were showing earlier in the weekend in similar conditions. It was a little bit daunting to know we were planning a one stop strategy and would have to go so long on the Medium tyre, but my engineers and I kept in close contact and worked together to ensure we could manage the tyre life as we needed to. Although we had to be quite careful, in the end we got to 40 laps no problem, although it was good to switch to the Supersoft and be able to secure position. I think the result is quite pleasing and we are back where we need to be in terms of the competition. We hope for good things from our next step in Silverstone, where we will be aiming for a good performance in an important race for the Team."

Max Chilton - 19th: "We got a good start but struggled on the first lap, then after a few laps we were able to see that our strategy was going to play out well for us. We started on the Medium tyre and ran long for just under 40 laps. I was quite pleased with how well we were managing the tyres even late on in that stint, so a good job from my engineers who were working with me to achieve that, enabling me to still be able to push hard on the last few laps before we pitted for the Supersoft. The early part of the second stint worked well but later on I was struggling with the tyre wear and I wasn't able to defend my position from Pic. It was good to add to our tally of two-car finishes though and we can feel optimistic as we head towards a very important race for the Team and for me - our home race, the British Grand Prix."

John Booth - team principal: "It was quite a tough morning for the engineers who were working with less data than we would normally have collected on the dry tyres over the course of the weekend here. Determining our starting tyre and overall strategy was always going to be tough. The opening laps of the race didn't quite go as planned and we lost ground on the prime tyre, which suffered with warm-up. At this point it did feel like perhaps we hadn't started the race the right way, however both the drivers and engineers did a good job to hold their nerve and allow the much improved durability of the prime tyre to show over the option tyre. We never expected for this to be a particularly good race for us but we've been working hard on improving our tyre wear life and we reaped the benefit of this focus with our first stint of around 40 laps. That really enabled us to gain good track position on the Caterhams. With a total of only two pit stops for the Team today we knew that each had to count and the mechanics did a fantastic job to service both cars in a quick time. Really then it was about managing the wear life on the Supersoft tyre and getting both cars to the end of the race. Overall we can be pleased that we have made progress at what has traditionally been a less than favourable circuit for our cars. We leave Canada pleased and in good spirits as we prepare for our home Grand Prix in three weeks' time."

Ma ci sarà ancora la Marussia l'anno prossimo?

Secondo me sì, tanti team stanno risparmiando quest'anno in vista della rivoluzione dell'anno prox nella quale sperano di invertire il trend
