Una buona notizia per il mondo della F1:

Theissen decides to stay on at BMW

By Pablo Elizalde Monday, November 30th 2009, 10:43 GMT

Mario Theissen has decided to remain as head of BMW motorsport despite the German car maker's decision to quit Formula 1.

Theissen had admitted he was considering his future at BMW after it was announced it would not be racing in F1 from next year, but the German will stay on following the sale of the team back to Peter Sauber.

"In Hinwil it is now the end of an era, and I will remain as motorsport director at BMW," Theissen said.

BMW announced last week that it had sold the team back to Sauber, from whom the car maker had purchased a majority stake four years ago.

The FIA is yet to reveal if the Hinwil-based squad has a slot on the 2010 grid.

:hihi:

Young drivers test kicks off at Jerez

By Jamie O'Leary Tuesday, December 1st 2009, 09:34 GMT

Bertrand Baguette, Renault, Jerez testingFormula 1 young driver testing kicked off on Tuesday morning at Jerez in Spain with nine teams in action.

Formula Renault 3.5 champion Bertrand Baguette was first onto the track for Renault and led the timesheets during the opening hour.

Among the other drivers on track were F3 Euro Series champion Jules Bianchi, who will drive for the Ferrari team for two days, as well as Daniel Ricciardo and Brendon Hartley in the Red Bull and Toro Rosso cars.

World champion team Brawn had Briton Mike Conway in its car during the morning, but planned to give Marcus Ericsson some running during the afternoon.

It was the same situation at McLaren, as the team plans to split its car between Gary Paffett and former McLaren/AUTOSPORT/BRDC Award winner Oliver Turvey during the day. Paffett was first out.

Force India began the day with American Indy Lights champion JR Hildebrand. Brit Paul di Resta was due to take over later on.

Andy Soucek was in the Williams as his prize for winning the F2 title this year, while Sauber ran Formula Master race-winner Alexander Rossi.
