The King of Spa 637 Posted February 1, 2013 Andrew Green, direttore tecnico della Force India ha spiegato che l’assenza del gradino sul muso sulla nuova VJM06 porta a un miglioramento delle prestazioni. Mentre la Lotus E21, presentata lunedì, ha mantenuto lo scalino, la nuova monoposto della Force India ha fatto uso del “vanity panel” per coprirlo. Green ha dichiarato che in questo modo si avrà un piccolo ma significativo guadagno di performance. “Per noi ci sono netti guadagni. Potevano essere molto piccoli, ma per noi c’è stato un netto vantaggio quindi abbiamo deciso di utilizzarlo (il “vanity panel”, ndr). Ad essere onesti, se il regolamento permette di toglierlo, perchè progettare una monoposto con lo scalino sul muso?” “Coprendo lo scalino abbiamo sistemato l’andamento dei flussi in quella zona. Una profonda analisi al CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics, tecnica che permette lo studio dei problemi di fluidodinamica al computer, ndr) ci ha permesso di capire cosa accadeva in quella zona e quindi di migliorarla.
