Barrichello si lamenta

Post raccomandati

Oggi Barrichello dichiara che c'era troppa acqua e che era pericoloso correre! Che gli incidenti erano inevitabili..

In Australia in prova aveva accusato sottosterzo.. in gara aveva iniziato col sottosterzo e a fine gara sovrasterzo..

Impossibile, sei certamente in malafede. :superlol:

Grateful Barrichello sorry to miss pole

Saturday, March 28th 2009

Rubens Barrichello believes understeer problems in the final qualifying session cost him the chance to grab his first pole position since 2004.

The Brawn GP driver set the pace in both Q1 and Q2, but was then outpaced by team-mate Jenson Button in the grid-deciding shootout.

Barrichello said his car developed understeer in the final session, and he was unable to push to the limit.

In the end, the Brazilian had to settle for second place, but he was delighted with the results following months of doubts about his future in F1.

"It has been a critical three or four months, waiting for news, so I am really, rally happy to be here," admitted Barrichello.

"I need to congratulate Ross (Brawn) and Nick (Fry) and everyone who has touched this car needs a credit because it is a really good car. So well done to the boys in England too.

It has been a great day and I was hoping I could put the car on pole. The car was fantastic on low fuel but in Q3 I developed some understeer. We tried to add some wing but the car was still going understeer so it was difficult.

The front row is a credit and we must be happy."

He added: "I was confident of getting pole position and in the first two sessions it was very nice. For some reason I got this understeer that slowed me down on fuel in Q3, but if anybody a month ago told me would you give 1,000 Dollars to be second in Melbourne, I would have given a little bit more. I have got to be happy, for sure."

Barrichello, the most experienced driver in F1 history, said he was as excited as a rookie as the Brawn GP team moved from the back to the front of the grid since last year.

"I feel younger than most of them - I've shown there is nothing veteran about myself. I speed up, I am all excited, grateful to have a good car. It has been tough the past few season so good to be back in a new car."

RUBENS BARRICHELLO

"It has been a great day and I want to congratulate the team for an outstanding job. I was hoping that I could put the car on pole and it was looking good in the first two sessions but in Q3 I developed some understeer in the car which comprised my final runs. However the first row for both cars is a real credit to the team and gives us a great chance in the race tomorrow. We have a really good car which everyone deserves credit for and I am just so happy to be racing at the front again."

Barrichello praises BGP 001's strength

Sunday, March 29th 2009

Rubens Barrichello praised the strength of Brawn GP's BGP 001 chassis after surviving two collisions to take second in Australia.

The Brazilian was involved in a multi-car first corner tangle and later hit Kimi Raikkonen's Ferrari, but recovered to fourth and then inherited second when Robert Kubica and Sebastian Vettel collided.

"It's strong - very strong," said Barrichello of the Brawn car. "I have been hit from behind, I hit someone in front...

I never thought I could finish on the podium after the start, I hit anti-stall and recovered quickly, then I was hit from behind by a McLaren and that put me sideways and I hit someone really hard

I thought the car was done for after that crash but it survived quite well. But in my first stint my nose was falling apart and I lost the braking stability when I hit Kimi. He closed the door and I couldn't avoid him."

Barrichello joked that the accidents removed any potential advantage from Brawn's controversial diffuser.

"If people think our car is only good because of the diffuser, that big hit broke the diffuser completely, so the car was strong," he said.

Although he had hoped for victory after being faster than his ultimately victorious team-mate Jenson Button for much of practice and in Q1 and Q2, Barrichello said he was still content with second in the circumstances.

"I had a lot of mixed emotions and it was fantastic," he said. "I started second and I hoped for one better but I am delighted to be here after the start."

Q & A with Rubens Barrichello

Tuesday, March 31st 2009

Amid all the excitement of Jenson Button's return to winning form for the Brawn GP team at the Australian Grand Prix, it was all too easy to overlook the fact that his teammate Rubens Barrichello recovered from a poor start and two separate collisions to finish right behind him on the road.

Barrichello may be the most experienced driver in the history of F1, but he remains blindingly quick - and will certainly help push the team and Button to their very limits throughout 2009.

Back in December, AUTOSPORT met with Barrichello in London with the Brazilian keen to put forward how determined he was to remain in F1.

So now, after the first race of what looks like being a remarkable season for him and Brawn, we caught up again to see how he feels about what has happened, just how good the BGP 001 car is, and how he sees things developing with Button.

Q. You've been in title-winning cars before at Ferrari. How good do you think the Brawn GP car is?

Rubens Barrichello: The car is great. The car is a title-winning car. The only thing is that it is a much smaller team ? well prepared but with only a couple of tests behind us. So it is very early to say we have everything in hand, because I am sure when you test so little small things can happens.

Although we have a fantastic team, well-prepared, it is too early to say we are contenders definitely. But in the whole potential of me after 16-years of driving cars, I can see that this car has the potential to win races for a long time.

Q. Do you think the Malaysian track will play more to the strengths of this car than Albert Park did?

RB: That is a tough one. In Australia we had the visibility as a problem. We had the temperature dropping and we actually had a fantastic feeling with the car ? and perhaps better than others. In Malaysia I think the racing car be closer. Ferrari will definitely be closer there; McLaren has always been good there. I was surprised with Red Bull ? so I think it will be close racing.

Q. Can you believe this is happening?

RB: Well, you are the one who knows more than anything ? I wanted an interview with AUTOSPORT in December to show my face, and here I am. I have always stayed positive. Deep inside I always knew I was going to drive, even though I wasn't sure, sure, sure ? I always knew it could be the case.

It is not like a dream come true just the fact I am here, but it is a dream come true the fact that we were 1-2. After qualifying I really felt we could be first and second, but after the start and after so many crashes from behind, from the side, I thought the car was already in bits. But it is very robust.

Q. So much has been made of the diffuser issue, yet engineers from rival teams say the whole car is beautifully made; the speed is not just coming from that area. Whatever happens at the appeal court, everyone will have the same diffuser too. How will that affect your title chances?

RB: I tell you ? whenever the McLaren crashed into me from behind, the diffuser was broken. I still had the pace, so it is not just there ? it is the whole situation. People can say whatever they want, but I hope the FIA will have the same application as they did before the race ? that it is good enough.

Q. And what about your rivalry with Jenson Button. How do you see that developing?

RB: We respect each other very much. But we both want to win. It is like we love other away from the track, but we hate each other when we are driving. So, it is a common thing between drivers, but the most important thing is that it is fair and honest.

Barrichello: Brawn has title-winning car

Tuesday, March 31st 2009

Rubens Barrichello, who helped Ferrari to five constructors' championships alongside Michael Schumacher, says he has no doubts that he has a title-winning car in his hands once again with Brawn GP.

On the back of he and teammate Jenson Button's 1-2 finish in the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, Barrichello is convinced that the BGP 001 has what it takes to go all the way to the championship.

However, Barrichello thinks that the key factor in whether or not the car can achieve that feat is in whether Brawn GP's size and finances will be a hindrance when it comes to fighting against the might of Formula 1's manufacturers.

"The car is great," Barrichello told AUTOSPORT in the build-up to this weekend's race in Malaysia. "The car is a title-winning car.

The only thing is that it is a much-smaller team - well prepared but with only a couple of tests behind us. So it is very early to say we have everything in hand, because I am sure when you test so little small things can happens.

Although we have a fantastic team, well-prepared, it is too early to say we are contenders definitely. But in the whole potential of me after 16-years of driving cars, I can see that this car has the potential to win races for a long time."

One element Barrichello is convinced will not be a factor in affecting the team's performance will be the diffuser issue ? irrespective of what happens at next month's FIA Appeal Court hearing.

"I tell you ? whenever the McLaren crashed into me from behind, the diffuser was broken," said the Brazilian. "I still had the pace, so it is not just there ? it is the whole situation.

People can say whatever they want, but I hope the FIA will have the same application as they did before the race ? that it is good enough."

Brawn GP was dominant in Australia, but Barrichello thinks things will be much closer in Sepang this time out.

"In Australia we had the visibility as a problem," he said. "We had the temperature dropping and we actually had a fantastic feeling with the car ? and perhaps better than others. In Malaysia I think the racing car be closer.

Ferrari will definitely be closer there; McLaren has always been good there. I was surprised with Red Bull ? so I think it will be close racing."

RUBENS BARRICHELLO

"It was a good qualifying session for the team today and well done to Jenson once again as he had the pace to put the car on pole. Unfortunately on my side of the garage, the car developed understeer in qualifying and we were not able to resolve the problem. However we know the performance of the car in race conditions is strong and I will be aiming to score as many points as possible tomorrow before I can start chasing for my own pole position and wins."

RUBENS BARRICHELLO

"It was a great race today and I was really happy with how the car was performing in the dry in the first stint of the race. After a good start, I felt that I had the pace to catch up with the front-runners and score some good points. Unfortunately once the conditions started to deteriorate, we lost a little too much time on my side of the garage with the pit stops which cost me a few places. However the important thing is that the car is going great and we have proved that it is competitive at different types of track. Congratulations to Jenson and the team for maintaining our fantastic start to the season and I look forward to continuing the challenge in Shanghai."

Aggiornamento.

RUBENS BARRICHELLO

"It was a tough race in very challenging conditions out there today. I only had three brake discs working on my car for the first 19 laps which made it even more difficult for me to keep the car on the road. Thankfully the problem resolved itself when the brakes heated up during my first pit stop and I had a good pace from then but unfortunately it was a bit too late. However we got the car to the end of the race in difficult circumstances and I scored as many points as I could have done, so we have to be happy with that."

JENSON BUTTON

"We were aiming for pole position today but unfortunately it wasn't our best qualifying session of the season and the pace just wasn't there. I didn't have a great lap on my final run in Q3 and we were struggling for grip on the corner exits and locking tyres throughout the session. We were surprised by our lack of pace and the quicker pace of our competitors today who have obviously made advances and caught up quickly. It's going to be a tough race tomorrow however our long-run pace with heavy fuel was really competitive on Friday so that will stand us in good stead if we can get a clean start."

RUBENS BARRICHELLO

"Unfortunately qualifying didn't go as well as we planned today. I suffered from traffic on my final run in Q3 when I was in the middle of a group were taking it slowly on their out laps. That was different to my approach and meant that I couldn't get enough temperature into the tyres which compromised my quick lap. Our competitors are improving and it will be interesting to see how that affects the race. It's going to be tough but I am confident that good points are possible tomorrow."
